We will be listing websites that are pertinent to issues that affect our business as well as our personal lives. The Chamber sites addresses for many of these issues. The Ill General Assembly site allows you to view and track bills, your legislators voting record, who’s on what committees and how to contact your legislator. The same can be done with the City of Chicago, Cook County and Congressional sites. It is imperative that we all get involved to voice our concerns. There are many changes being made at all levels of government such as increased taxes, increased fees, and various mandates that have a negative impact on your business.
The following links will get you to various resources regarding issues and legislation that affect the business community as well as our personal lives. The Illinois Chamber is a great resource to track what’s being discussed, proposed and voted upon at all levels of government. Voting records are displayed which can be helpful in determining who is actually supporting the business community. You can also arrange to have alerts sent to you through the Illinois Chamber site. We have also listed links to individual addresses of our local officials. If your residence is in a district different than your business, then be sure to track those officials as well. Change begins with you. Together, we can build a stronger, more informed community. Vote, Volunteer, Participate. Your involvement is important to all of us. |
